AWAKEN WITH HATHA YOGA.
'Ha' means Sun and 'tha' means Moon. The practice aims at balancing the polar aspects of our being to attain greater physical and mental health.
The intention of the class is for students to start their week with a sense of balance as we practice longer holding of the poses, being aware of deep-seated tension and breath-holding patterns. The choice of poses will take into consideration the current change of season, and how our body/mind/emotions are affected by a change of temperature, and light.
In the last 3rd of the class, we will devote time to learning other aspects of Yoga such as breathing, meditation, ayurveda, meridian yoga etc...
SLOW VINYASA FLOW YOGA / RESTORATIVES
In the 1st half of the class, we perform Slow Sun Salutations to deeply oxygenate the body, keep the joints limber and increase circulation.
The 2nd half of the class, we practice restorative poses with deep breathing, to release pent up tension in the body, to concentrate the mind and allow for deep rest and rejuvenation of the nervous system.
CREATIVE VINYASA FLOW YOGA (intermediate level)
A sequenced session using basic Sun Salutation as its primer. We then incorporate standing poses, backbends and arm balances in a meditative but dynamic flow. We end class with inversions and relaxation. In this flow, breath leads movement for a transformative and balancing practice aimed at creating a more agile and stronger body.
